following an early morning fire. where this happened and why more at noon... starts now. news at noon front door open good afternoon, thanks for joining us. i'm megan reuther. one person is dead following a fire at morning in nevada. fire crews were sent to the 8- hundred block of west north avenue around 3-30 this morning. the home wasw fully engulfed. they say 36 year old adam william blazek did not make it out of the home and died. no one else was at home at the time. the fire is considered susicious. police say an autopsy will be conducted. firefighters from colo and cambridge helped the nevada fire department on the scene. a des mones man charged with a

24 year old troy mure junior appeared in court this morning. police say he slammed a car into a tree last month...killing his passenger 22 year old scalicity boyd back in november. but mure claims he crashed because he was being chased by people with a gun. charges of o-w-i and vehicular homicide by o-w-i were dropped against him..but he is still charged with vehicular homicide by reckless driving his trial is set february 29th... a popular vietnamese restaurant re-opened its doors and is offering free food just for today... yesterday, the restaurant posted this tweet, "so who has two thumbs up and will be re-opening tomorrow night? this guy! points imaginary thumbs at imaginary self" a dong in des moines caught fire back in august... it left extensive damage.. forcing owners to gut the place and rebuild. they had hoped to re-open last

with iowa's caucuses in the rearview, and new hampshire's primary around the corner, only two democratic presidential contenders remain. hillary clinton and bernie sanders made back-to-back appeals to new hampshire voters in wednesday's c-n-n town hall. reid binion reports. presidential candidate "i have an uphill climb and i'm going to climb as high and hard as i can because i want to make my case for the people of new hampshire."on the heels of a razor- thin victory in iowa, hillary clinton is casting herself as the underdog in new hampshire... ...but rival bernie sanders insists he's the one battling tough odds.

" the c-d-c says they are developing guidelines to be released in the near future. coralville police are looking for a goat who is now on the most-wanted list this week. william is a research goat who belongs to the university of iowa. he escaped while being transported to a facility in coralville on friday. this is a picture of a goat that looks like william, but it isn't the missing goat. the goat's been spotted multiple times near north liberty and the coralville dam... but police haven't been able to catch him. another animal at the blank zoo predicted a super bowl win this morning. the zoo's 257 pound amur tiger picked carolina to win the big game. blank zoo animals have had a decent track record of predicting the winner of the big game.

games. outdoor enthusiasts can now enjoy the slopes this winter. seven oaks rec in boone was working early this morning to get everything ready. boone got almost 10 inches of snow and that was great news for seven oaks and those who ski. the machine that makes the snow takes 12-hundred gallons of water per minute. a special prom is coming up this month that will give guests a night to remember. a night to shine began on valentine's day weekend last year as a way to celebrate people with special needs. this year, two metro churches

geiger. on monday, the iowa caucuses took off and iowa chose it's number one candidates on the republican and democrat side.. ted cruz won the most votes on the republican side for a victory here at just under 28 percent... which came as a disappointment to renewable fuel standard voters.. the iowa renewable fuel association says they had discussions with many of the candidates here in the state. and in the weeks before the caucus.. senator cruz changed his tone on ethanol.. including putting in a positive op-ed into the des moines register. "now he never did embrace the rfs that is true, the renewable fuel standard, but he tried to portray himself as for ethanol, for higher blends, for knocking down the blend wall. just not for the rfs." shaw says 85 percent of voters showed up for pro-rfs candidates.. more than the last caucus. and while cruz won.. his vote total was under 30 percent.. which is less than majority.. only two other republicans have won an iowa
